GvG/PvP rated/unrated - Guild Wars Forums

OK, I'm still pretty new to Guild Wars lol only been here since release. I play and play but have never played in PvP or GvG. I'm mostly PvE.

What I'm looking for is an all exclusive section on really GvG unrated until we can get the hang of it. What are some of the better builds for those that PvE going into it with a PvE toon? Say, Warrior...Monk...Necro...Ranger...I guess something for each profession.

How do you battle unrated? Should you created a PvP character or would it be ok to use your PvE toon?

Simple things like that. I'm really sorry if this is a repeat post. I'm new to Guru and still haven't gotten used to the site yet. I'm still learning it as I don't come everyday.

No takers? My guild is really really all over me about this. And I don't want to lead them into something that I know nothing about? Are there any other threads that I can read about it? Please, anyone???

I'm not quite sure what you're asking but I assume you just want general information on GvG.

Here's a short overview on guildwiki

You can't do unrated GvG unless you find another guild to challenge you or that will accept your challenge. If you have any friends in another guild that would like to GvG then you both need to login with 8 people and go to your guild halls. One of you then issues a challenge to the other guild. The party leader can then accept the challenge and you'll start the unrated match.

At the moment there are no random unrated matches.

There is a forum for guilds looking to do that on most gw sites that have forums.

Also you may want to try running in Tombs a few times first. (if you and/or your guild don't know what this is you really need to figure out before running GvG)

the guilds I associate with are central time zone based but we'd more than likely be willing to run unrated GvG with you.

Hurl Spew is the character whom's guild is most likely to want to do GvG unrated.

Some will tell you that an Iway or Trapway would be good to start with, but personaly I feel that you need to take your guild into Tombs get slautered afew times, getting up interest to do PvP type stuff and the interest to do it properly.

But all of the above is my opinion.
